After a long lay-off, I'm resurrecting my enjoyment of drawing. Sunday, September 23, 2007. Not finished yet. I started on these about two weeks ago and had ground to a halt. I was thinking that maybe it wasn't going anywhere and was about to abandon ship, but somehow it magically resurrected itself and now I'm quite pleased with it so far. One of the apples went furry while it was waiting to be painted, but I'll worry about that later. They're from trees in the derelict garden next door.

After a long lay-off, I'm resurrecting my enjoyment of drawing. Thursday, June 19, 2008. I went into the gardens at work today armed with a little sketchbook instead of a camera. It's a hard habit to break. I found a quiet corner and tried to draw some plants but didn't come up with much that I was that happy with. Thursday, July 22, 2010. Mimos de criança grande. Criança mimada é um saco. Adolescente mimada então, pior ainda. Mas será que um adulto tambem se da à esses luxos, à esses mimos? Mas agora as coisas mudaram de figura, não somos mais crianças e nossos problemas não se resumem em querer um brinquedo novo. After a long lay-off, I'm resurrecting my enjoyment of drawing. Wednesday, August 05, 2009. This lunchtime I did something different: I took some bits of scrap paper and a biro and went into the gardens. I found a bench in a quiet corner where I was undisturbed for 45 minutes. I went there yesterday too and though it had been raining, the bench was dry: bonus. As I cross-hatched away, I heard some squawking and looked up: a hundred Black-headed Gulls were overhead, going after a hatch of flying ants.
