SCISSORS & SAGE

So long, 2016! December 31, 2016. Happy New Year, everyone! As 2016 is coming to an end, I thought I’d share a bit about my year with you. It was kind of a funny year for Scissors and Sage. I found that I didn’t have a chance to write many blog posts on the things that Anne and I were crafting, baking, and doing together. A lot of my creative energy has been going toward planning for our wedding (July 2017! Preparing for the holidays at terrain, and making homemade Christmas gifts for our loved ones.

Back in October, the editor of All Free Knitting, Kathryn Abrams, reached out to me because she wanted to include my knit tie for Anne. 9 Men’s Knitting Patterns. It would be an honor to ...

Our Trip to Arizona. April 18, 2016. If all you know of succulents and cacti is that they are easy, slow growing additions to a desk or a bedside, you are gravely unprepared for Arizona. Prickly pear, agave, and saguaro cacti line highways, grow wild in the desert, and are the foundation for many a home’s hardscaping. These, in combination with citrus trees and skyscraper-level palm trees, make for a vacation for the books. And Jayme Henderson ( @hollyandflora. Do you like books? Do you like beer? Portug...

Pomegranate, Lime Ginger Mocktail. Posted by Sarah | offbeat inspired. On December 23, 2014. A few weeks ago, I co-hosted a baby shower for a friend. Of course, if you’re not avoiding alcohol at the moment, feel free to add a shot of vodka to this recipe.). Need other holiday drink ideas? Quick Tip: When I made th...

Scissors and Safety Pins | I could make that.

Scissors and Safety Pins. I could make that. September 25, 2010. Found this recipe from Alisa Burke. The sugar could be substituted for splenda. You could use fruit grown in your own garden. If you’re lucky enough to know any beekeepers or live near a market that sells honey directly from the bees, you could use that honey instead of the processed-pasteurized-heated-and-trucked-across-country stuff you buy in the store. Scissors and Scraps

Monday, February 13, 2012. Sometimes making a masculine card can be difficult but, finding papers with deep colors and adding metal will do the trick. I gave this card to my dad on his birthday last year. Thursday, January 26, 2012. So its way over due that I post something, but it hasn't. Been for a lack of crafting time. I just haven't. Little pieces and collaged. It together onto foam core. Once I had it all put together I made a mixture of mod podge. Monday, October 31, 2011. Saturday, July 23, 2011.
