December 29, 2009. Posted by deborajane under Uncategorized. Well that didn’t last long did it? I was obviously a very good girl this year, because he brought me a MagiMix and my first Le Creuset pan. It’s a cast-iron griddle, super heavy and stern looking. It demands respect. I feel safer with it in the house because I know that if someone tried to rob me one firm whack round the head with the Creuset would sort them out. No more blurry shots of my tea! December 15, 2009. In as many days! Or, possibly, ...

August 31, 2009. Posted by deborajane under For mains. Sometimes I daydream about roasting a chicken on Sunday, then using the leftover meat for a curry on Monday and then boiling down the carcass for chicken soup on the Tuesday. The reality is that I barely have the time to Hoover the stairs, let alone pluck scraps of meat from a chicken carcass. I like the idea of making my own bread or rolling out my own pasta, but who actually does this? Our kitchen has one work surface, which is the size of a choppi...
