about michelle | happy little thoughts

The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things. {Ephesians 6:20}. Thanks for stopping by to say hi! Let me tell you a bit about myself:. I am a sinner that loves Jesus. Which means I get it wrong more than I get it right. But Jesus is my Savior, so I have peace with God. I am lavished, daily, by his uninterrupted grace…in spite of myself. I am a wife deeply in love with her husband. I am a Stay-At-Home-Mommy to these three amazing children. I’m glad your here. You are...

In the shadow of Your wings I will sing for joy. The clarity that winter brings →. Lessons from a spider. August 15, 2015. Not so much. Less than 4 hours later, I come home, and the web is back. And, if possible, it’s actually more impressive than the night before. This spider had worked tirelessly to rebuild it’s web in its entirety. I was actually pretty impressed. Chili | Hungry Like the Wilf
https://hungrylikethewilf.wordpress.com/2014/11/09/chili
Hungry Like the Wilf. Or, a way to answer the question, What's for dinner? November 9, 2014. So, here is MY chili recipe. The seasoning is easy to mix up ahead of time and store in the cupboard until you need it. I have done it in a double batch before and used half and kept half for another time. Makes that second time of making chili a little quicker. 1 green pepper, diced. 1 yellow onion, diced. 2 stalks celery, diced. 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef. 2 small (6 oz.) cans tomato paste. 1 can diced tomatoes.

The Lion and the Lambes: Whole30: week 1
http://nathanandrachellambes.blogspot.com/2015/02/whole30-week-1.html
The Lion and the Lambes. Saturday, February 28, 2015. We've just about finished our first week on the Whole30. Program. It's going well so far. I'm definitely very tempted to cheat or quit sometimes, but I haven't caved yet! I have had to get creative to cook without grains and dairy. I'm thankful there's such an abundance of Paleo recipes available online. it's a bit different than Whole30, but close enough that many of the recipes work. I wanted to record our menu here to help others who are looking fo...

The Lion and the Lambes: Millersburg Surprise Birthday Vacation and Easter
http://nathanandrachellambes.blogspot.com/2015/05/millersburg-surprise-birthday-vacation.html
The Lion and the Lambes. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Millersburg Surprise Birthday Vacation and Easter. On the Thursday morning before Easter, I woke up and walked out of my room and immediately noticed a suitcase with a note on top. Nathan had left instructions for me to pack a bag for three nights. we were going on a trip for my birthday! He didn't tell me where we were going, so that afternoon when we left (Robin and Larry kept all the kids! I had no clue what the weekend had in store! This was just a very...

Gospel-Filled Milk | happy little thoughts
https://myhappylittlethoughts.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/gospel-filled-milk
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things. {Ephesians 6:20}. It just looks like an ordinary gallon of milk, doesn’t it? But it’s not. To me, it’s SO much more. This gallon of milk actually SCREAMS love to me. Yes, but who ISN’T working hard to improve themselves? So I can’t use that as an excuse. The bottom line is this: I’m usually more sin-filled than grace-filled. And yet? Mike responds with milk. Let me explain…. I woke up this morning and Mike was gone.

Waiting: It’s a Waste of My Life | happy little thoughts
https://myhappylittlethoughts.wordpress.com/2014/05/22/waiting-its-a-waste-of-my-life
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things. {Ephesians 6:20}. Waiting: It’s a Waste of My Life. I recently read an article, “Life won’t begin at your next milestone.”. If we believe this is a waiting period, we will act like this is a waiting period. The article suggests we will then “waste” our life while we “wait”…. Elisabeth Elliot wrote,. The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances.”. The article concludes with this…. I also need to ...

The Lion and the Lambes: Cecelia: 1 year old!
http://nathanandrachellambes.blogspot.com/2015/07/cecelia-1-year-old.html
The Lion and the Lambes. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Cecelia: 1 year old! Cecelia is a year old! Well, actually, she's 13 months old. but this last month has been CRAZY so I haven't been able to write about her birthday until now. We celebrated Cece's birthday with a ladybug themed party (a theme which Orion helped me pick). I think our decorations looked so cute! Our cupcakes. Hobby Lobby made the little bugs, not me ;). Happy birthday to you! Cece was very excited to get her new Wubinub pacifier! This girl...

Scissortail Songs
Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Tornadoes and thunder storms have defined life here in Oklahoma for the past few weeks. Yet again, the bed shaking, window rattling rolls of thunder woke me long before the alarm. Each day I am thankful that the tornadoes have avoided the Tulsa area. My family is experiencing a number of changes this year, and I decided that I need to make some changes myself. After all, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Aristotle. Talk about some changes.
