BrentsBench.com - Woodwind Essentials
http://brentsbench.com/content/view/38/30
M-F 11am to 6pm. Sat 10am to 3pm. M-F 8am to 11am. The book written by my repair teacher states, It is essential that the student have an instrument in good playing condition. After having been with him in an academic situation, I know what he meant. He meant the instrument should be done right, and that means so much more than the bare minimum. In the classroom, we had all day to repair one instrument. What a luxury! Level one - the body:. Level two the mechanism:. Level three- Pads and corks:. It is re...
BrentsBench.com - Zen and the Art of Trumpet Maintenance
http://brentsbench.com/content/view/42/33
M-F 11am to 6pm. Sat 10am to 3pm. M-F 8am to 11am. Zen and the Art of Trumpet Maintenance. Trumpets enjoy a history almost as long and varied as flutes. From before the walls of Jericho to post modern Although I admit that I lean toward Diz as at least one of the major pinnacles. As in the student instruments, anything that closes the bore and restricts your airflow must be corrected. Also, a dent in the bell stresses the metal and does not allow it to resonate as it should. I admit I have done more than...
BrentsBench.com - Brass Essentials
http://brentsbench.com/content/view/39/29
M-F 11am to 6pm. Sat 10am to 3pm. M-F 8am to 11am. Brass instruments for the student usually require less maintenance and repair than do their woodwind counterparts. Generally it is because there are less moving parts, and the parts are internal rather than exposed. There are, however, things to consider and evaluate regarding whether or not your instrument should come to the repair shop. Brass instruments are closed bore. This means that aside from the water key, there is no place between the mouthp...

BrentsBench.com - Custom Saxophone Enhancement
http://brentsbench.com/content/view/41/32
M-F 11am to 6pm. Sat 10am to 3pm. M-F 8am to 11am. At the next level, the sax is no longer an instrument you play it becomes physically and emotionally part of you. I can certainly help with the physical part. Emotionally, you re on your own. [grin] Adjustment and regulation take on a whole new meaning. Subjective words like feel come to the fore. Everything from spring tension to key height changes depending on whether you play jazz or legit. Here s what we do:. People seem to enjoy that.

Please note the convenient location of the coffee pot, which in fact was the first thing set up when construction began.

BrentsBench.com - My Peeps

M-F 11am to 6pm. Sat 10am to 3pm. M-F 8am to 11am. We set up the front page endorsements back when we first built the website, but never updated it. I'd like to thank and appreciate ALL my folks who drive quite a distance to stop by - it amazes and humbles me. (The notes you guys leave on the bathroom wall crack me up.). David Baker and (by the way) Ron Sebben even called and came up. Shout out to my Chicago friends Mark Colby, Cary Deadman, Kirk Garrison, Phil Hession, and Bob Lark. The rest of my India...
