Miesque’s Approval had three winners over two days in three major racing centres nationwide, namely Kenilworth, Turffontein and Greyville. The Scott Bros’ had great weekend with Matador Man winning the Secretariat Stakes Listed at Turffontein on Saturday, whilst five year old gelding by The Sheik Road To Dubai won the Borrowdale Cup Sprint Listed over 1200m. Hewitson produced Matador Man down the inside to hold his stablemate Tilbury Fort to 1,75 lengths in a time of 85,08 secs.

Based on visits to study successful stud farms around the world, the Scott Bros designed their Highdown facilities by combining the best and most practical elements. The American covered barn concept was the most practical and Scott Bros were the first to implement this design in South Africa. The farm boasts a total of 170 Stables, 111 of which are situated in 5 covered barns. Two of the covered barns have 47 loose boxes attached which are generally used for yearling preparation.
