I am probably wrong. PayPal IPN API Problems. Just documenting some problems (and possible solution) I’ve found over the past couple of days with PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN). Seems PayPal had some issues this week which were resulting in their servers crapping out and returning HTTP 500 response codes to requests. See this writeup. For more on that.
