Keeping up with the idea to make something beautiful that has a delicious grotesqueness to it. After a few attempts and a lot of blowing failures I finally sorted through some technical and aesthetic issues. Faux fur = fake. Test shots idea only. I thought this would work. More screw ups = ideas. Tigher knots different sizes. With wrappers and backdrop.

I’m not sure how I arrived here, but I guess I’m playing around with the idea of scribbling onto the image, by using Photoshop, rather than applying scribbles/ink directly onto the paper surface. I’m also not overthinking this – and letting my hands lead the way (making “yes” work). I’m not even sure I’ll continue with this idea. Image without the ball. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Summer Draws to an End. Some of my earliest childhood memories of summer are of my siblings and I running around the back yard, weaving in and out of a sprinkler. Running around in circles, alternately squealing and laughing and darting towards the ice cold sprays of water, and only at the last minute jumping over the swinging sprinkler arm.
