Day #16: Sarah (sister-in-law). Posted by scott hendric. Day #15: John (brother-in-law). Old Standard – a decent free font that I found online. It reminds me of Le Corbusier's type. Posted by scott hendric. Day #14: Audrey (my mother-in-law). Posted by scott hendric. Day #13: Lloyd (my father-in-law). This is Gotham Book and it is a beautiful typeface. Scott Hendric: My Parents House

http://www.scotthendric.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-parents-house.html

A few weeks back I was at my parents house with my camera and felt compelled to snap a few shots of things that, as I can recall, haven't really changed in any fundamental way for a long, long time. It was maybe in response to all of the changes I've seen in Winnipeg. It's sometimes nice when things actually do stay the same. Posted by scott hendric. The bag of bags in the backroom! What about the elms! 30 July, 2011 09:07. Oh man, that door bell chime reminds me of my parents house. nice.

a glimpse: The old boxer

http://chokan.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-old-boxer.html

I like to go barefoot; get depressed when there is no sunshine; never count calories; never count beers; cut my hair when i am bored; wish i had long hair; hate to be cold; do not function well in the morning; love my hairy hubby. I touch his arm. He turns slowly and looks at me. Who are you? He asks me. I tell him I'm the new psychologist, I wanted to meet him. Ah. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. FiNNISHED: October 2011

http://finnishedmek.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

And yet, still beginning. Friday, October 07, 2011. N eastern Paktika Province, near the border with Pakistan, September and early October are pine-nut season. Much of the able-bodied population in rural villages is busy gathering cones from forests on mountain slopes. But several slopes that yield rich harvests face American military positions, which presents an annual problem: pine-cone pickers risk being caught between two warring sides. On Sept 9, the hills were quiet. The company took no fire. For t...

SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT: 12.2012

http://crmlvndr.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT. Today as I washed my hands in a public restroom at school, I stuck my soapy hands under the faucet and waited for the water to turn on. And waited. And waved my hands a little. and then finally looked down and realized this was not an automatic faucet. Or I have become super adjusted to North American life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://crmlvndr.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT. I was talking to Betsy today about how certain bands remind me of certain friends of mine. So I decided to make a list of my friend-artist associations. Just for fun and in no particular order. Dee - Ella Fitzgerald and Stars. Betsy - Amy Grant. Lynda - Cat Stevens. Matt K. - Architecture in Helsinki. Jeff - Corb Lund. Scott - Yo La Tengo and of course the "Don't Stop Believin'" song by Journey. Chris - Modest Mouse and Pixies. Ross - St. Vincent and Pavement. Alvin - Iron and Wine.

SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT. I lent the Sandlot to my cousin so his son Z could watch it. After begging all afternoon to watch it, when Z was finally given the opportunity, I heard him say, "No, I want to watch Arrested Development." I've never met a five year old with finer taste. SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT: 04.2012

http://crmlvndr.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

SO MUCH BEAUTY IN DIRT. Changes. I've never been good with change. Last week one of our 2 hr labs turned into a 2 hr bitch session about all the "concerns" people have. Yuck. All that remains is to figure out what to do for the other 10-20 hours I'd like to work, which is where I am hoping the not-yet-solidified job will come in. If not, however, I can just hang on to my Mondays at the orthodontists office - not perfect, but sufficient. Now I can rest easy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). N and L. Vellema.
