Our Summer vacation this year is to Monticello and Williamsburg in Virginia – and along with fascinating Revolutionary War era history both locations have interesting cycling opportunities. On arriving at the first rest stop on entering Virginia I was delighted to find a free official cycling map of the state, I don’t know how common it is for states to do this but it is an excellent idea. This morning I joined an enthusiastic group of volunteers to replace the worn and warped boards on a bridge near Rockhill Park in Fort Wayne. It was hard work but satisfying and we left knowing that the Fort Wayne Trails are a little bit better than when we started. I am a 53 year old dad and husband originally from Scotland and I work as the Webmaster for the Lutheran Health Network. In Fort Wayne, Indiana. During the summer of 2012 we moved to New Haven, Indiana from Scotland. My spare time revolves around cycling and planning trips away from the usual places.
