Scottish National Trail: GPS Caveats
http://scottishnationaltrail.blogspot.com/2014/11/gps-caveats.html
From Kirk Yetholm to Cape Wrath: Aug-Oct 2014. Thursday, 27 November 2014. For every bit of technology (or rather for every activity that is based on technology) I like to have a plan "B". In my case that's going to be an iPhone 5s with or without a SIM card (given the Hazards. Recently encountered I think that might well be with. This provides me with a plan "B". For GPS, Camera, Kindle and iPod in one neat package. Time was when I had no technology of any sort. Sigh! Do as you wish of course. Garmin cu...

Iceland Traverse: July 2014
http://icelandtraverse.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A North to South Traverse of Iceland in July 2014. Tuesday, 29 July 2014. On the other hand you will. See some scenery that is pretty much unique to Iceland. Enjoy one of your best hot baths ever. Emerge thinner and tougher than when you started. Have some sun and no wind to sit and enjoy a waterfall view. Or you may not! Have plenty of empty space to yourself and your thoughts. Get covered in black sand overnight. Learn to treat a river crossing as an opportunity to have clean feet (albeit cold ones).

Pyrenees High Route 2013. A traverse of the Pyrenees from Hendaye to Banyuls by the HRP. Thursday, 31 October 2013. For most of the central section water is readily available from streams or lakes. It may need treatment, but at least it exists. However in the Basque country and on some of the crests near the end there are stretches with little or no water. It was something to which one should devote a certain degree of attention. P for his great help buying much of my new gear in the US. CU, A&J, GV and ...

Scottish Nationals Paragliding
September 4, 2009. The Lanarkshire and Lothian round of the 2009 Scottish Nationals took place over the weekend of the 8 and 9 August. Well, the eighth at least, as it was pouring down on the Sunday. The points awarded on the day were :-. Creep – nice! Sunday proved to be a victory for the Rain People and our plans to chuck Andy off a hill were put back till another day. Overall a super day was had by all (yes, even Al despite his attempts to avoid sleeping alone lol) and more points on the scoreboard.
