The Long Hot Summer. Friday, August 9, 2013. It has been a bit of a slow summer (understatement) here on the NE Coast of Scotland, with scorchisn temps, but very little wind and waves on offer. Even my favourite alternative activity of freediving has been limited due to ear infections caused by my advanced surfers' ear. Still, at least a trip to Indo made up for it - scoring waves everyday for a month! Looking forward to the autumn and the prospect of some decent weather, as well as a trip to Tiree.

Having never been to North Devon before I wasn't sure quite what to expect in terms of waves, and with the forecast being a bit changeable making the 650 mile trip was a bit of a gamble. Fortunately the stars aligned and we ran two days of competition in overhead x-onshore conditions, mostly on 7 and 9m kites. Despite riding in the wrong heat on day 1 (two George's in the comp! Thanks to the BKSA.
