Friday, December 31, 2010. Christmas 2010 - Part II. After our quick stop at home we headed to see our family in Florida. Each year Liza looks forward to the trip because she gets to go pet the sting rays. Monday, February 21, 2011. Don't give up on us. I promise we will return to blogging. I've given up the idea of trying to catch up and simply accepted that won't happen and we should just jump back in! For now this is the best we can do! First Day of School 2014. Thursday, September 30, 2010. I thought Bair was joking when we talked on Tuesday about his being in the Homecoming parade on Thursday! He wasn't - Bair was asked to drive one of the College's new Hertz Connect cars and he told them he could, but he'd need to put a car seat in it. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Stingrays and Easter Eggs. When we were in Florida we took Liza to the Florida Oceanographic Society and she fell in love with stingrays. She loved petting them, feeding them and watching them swim around. She had so much fun that she had to go two days in a row and she talked about it for days afterwards. Monday, March 28, 2011. Liza and Bair picked me up at the airport on Saturday and we headed off to the circus in Des Moines. It was a slow moving circus and sometimes it didn't hold Liza's attention but she had fun anyway. And she learned a new word for the day.souvenir! The elephant rides were a big hit for the children and Liza enjoyed watching them. Maybe next year she'll ride. The clowns were a big hit and their costumes were great! Monday, March 7, 2011. Monday, March 7, 2011. Bowling for EP's birthday. For EP's birthday we joined him and others for dinner and bowling in Newton. This was Liza's first bowling experience and she had a great time. Liza had so much fun watching other people bowl and she was especially fond of Addy! Liza helped keep Rachel entertained too! And whenever anyone knocked down pins she loved cheering for them. Thursday, May 27, 2010. Liza and her Daddy are all about playing in the hose. After a particularly hot day this week Chris thought about how he could turn himself into a water attraction that would hold Liza's attention. He was content to stand right by the sprinkler feature and soak up the cool water. One of something never seems to satisfy our family so if one fun sprinkler attachment is good three must be great! Saturday, July 24, 2010. Poweshiek County 4H Fair. Another joy of living in a rural area - the 4H County Fair! Liza saw as many neigh-neighs and moo cows as she could stand and her Iowa Grandpa Jim fed her popcorn until I thought she was going to burst! In addition to the fair confections, we were so pleased to see Katherine's photographs exhibitions and watch Maile ride her horse. Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Green Eggs and Ham. Liza loves Sam I Am, the Sneetches and the Zaxs so much that we often role play them! Guess he should have explained that the "things" include a roof over her head, electricity and the clothes on her back. This was supposed to be the oh I love green eggs shot - she doesn't and she wasn't much for pretending! I asked her to smile pretty for the camera - instead she's "haming" it up!
