Sunday, 24 March 2013. Technical Assignment 1 - Presentation. In my trip to the Melbourne Grand Prix, I attempted to re-create the image below. I attempted the re-creation over 4 days at the track. Note that this picture was obviously taken by someone with a Press-Pass, as there is no Cyclone fencing between the camera and the cars. Over all I took about 500 images of cars! Image from Formula1.com (No photographer mentioned). Manual focus Shot at 400mm ISO100 , f/14 @ 1/100 Slightly blurry all over.

Thursday, 7 March 2013. 10 Questions on Exposure. 10 Questions on Exposure. Stop is a word used when referring to changing usually shutter speed or aperture. To change one stop, to go up one stop, down one stop, meaning one "Stop" of exposure, either by adjusting shutter speed or aperture on your camera. With 50mm 1.8 on my camera. 18, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22. A f/28 @ 1/125th. B f/16 @ 1/125th. Built in Reflected Light meter, Incident light meter (hand held) or by the Histogram on your camera.

Monday, 18 March 2013. 1 What are the limitations of a focal plane shutter? When synced to a Flash unit, if the shutter is too fast, then the image can be partially exposed, leaving black lines across the image. The focal plane shutter can also cause vibrations (minimal) while doing long exposures. 2 What is the definition of depth of field? The range of range refers to the area of the image that is exposed, between the closest, and farthest areas of the image that look sharp in the image. 24 x 36 mm.

Thursday, 21 February 2013. Ok here is how I saw it! Rock Star Jump : I'm not happy with the light. Full frame Black (A wall inside CIT). Someone riding a bike. A door handle on a white car. What the sign said. A little bright, in a lot of dark! Blast from the past! I was very happy with the reaction I received from people when I explained who I was and what i was doing, everyone was willing to help! Was a really fun intro to the course.
