Scott Lew's ALS Poetry Blog. Newer posts →. August 17, 2015 · 5:11 pm. The nurse pulled about fifty small dolls from a dryer under the sink. Which I hadn’t noticed was there. She clutched them gingerly to her chest. Making sure not to drop a single doll. As she prepared my food and medication. A cartoonish man and lady in a dress. Who were having a violent argument. Then they would make out. Then they would stop. Start over and repeat. The routine again and again. I could not hear. Were flying in and out.

Scott Lew's ALS Poetry Blog. My Leading Ladies, Olivia Wilde and Katee Sackhoff, take the Ice Bucket Challenge! THIS BODY →. September 25, 2014 · 4:14 pm. Test of the Pest. The fly landed on my left eye ball. I could feel the tension. In its six legs. And it’s tiny mouth. Nipping at my cornea. So close to my pupil. I can’t move. So I couldn’t shoo it away. I can’t close my eyelid. I can’t even make a sound. When I’m lying down. Of what would drive the living. After what seemed like. The fly flew off.

THIS BODY | Scott Lew's ALS Poetry Blog

Scott Lew's ALS Poetry Blog. Test of the Pest. Letting Go →. January 24, 2015 · 9:38 pm. Me, Enjoying the Ride. I wore this body out. I wore this body out. Beyond being able to. I wore this body out. Almost no ability to show emotion. I wore this body out. Exceeding my expiration date. Thirteen years of muscles melting. I wore this body out. Lost my sense of smell. When I got trached. When my eyelids stopped cooperating. The left won’t close. The right won’t stay open. I’m slack jawed. Got to see my boys.

Making light of the situations that surround us. Move, you lazy good-for-nothings! 8221; the Hungarian police were screaming. That was when I began to hate them, and my hatred remains our only link today. They were our first oppressors. They were the first faces of hell and death. Night; Wiesel, Elie). An Unexpected Pathway | The Daily Chuckle

Making light of the situations that surround us. As this school year is coming to a near end, my English Honors class just finished reading. By Elie Wiesel. It serves as a firsthand account and perspective to what concentration camps were really like during World War II. The traumatic experiences of Wiesel were extremely touching to me and really hit home as I was reading the book. My father and his parents before the Vietnam War. Left for Dead →. Making light of the situations that surround us. This post is going to be about a not so cheerful scene from the book. By Elie Wiesel. This scene from the book really touched me and stood out from all the other moments in the book. This moment was when all of the people in the concentration camps had to get tattoos of numbers on all their arms. 8220;I became A-7713. From then on, I had no other name.”. An Unexpected Pathway →. In stories, movies, and even life, there always has to be an end. The End. The End is near. The End justifies the means. But is the end really an ending, or is it more than that? Does a story really end? Does a person’s life really stop just like that? Well, you’re about to find out! Time to get a little soul-searchy! Strument...

Scott, Kim, Hannah & Bailey

Scott, Kim, Hannah and Bailey. Saturday, November 3, 2012. This year Hannah wanted to be a 50's girl and was super excited that she got to wear her costume to dance class. Bailey was a pretty good Jazz fan. Halloween night we went trick or treating with Jammie, Ian, David and Grandma. Ian was an army guy and David a troll. Bailey was going to be a 50's girl as well until I remembered I bought her this costume last year so she was a cupcake. Going to the first house. The Witches at Gardner Village 2012.
