Kyle & Rebecca: April 2014
http://monsoneverafter.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Sunshine, Blessed Sunshine! Boy have we been waiting for this. Temperatures reaching the 70's, and warm sunshine all day long. Even the Western winds decided to pipe down for a few days so we could come out of hibernation! It has been a fantastic three days, and things are looking good through the end of the week! Everyone in this house needed a little sunshine, a little outdoor exercise and neighborly friendship. The winter of '13-14 was mean, and we are ready to forget it!

Kyle & Rebecca: January 2013
http://monsoneverafter.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 8, 2013. I've been wanting to get family photos since Kate was born. Our last photos are just the three of us, and while I LOVE them, it felt odd to have Kate left out of the pictures! My cute cousin Janelle took our pictures, and captured some great moments for us! I especially love the photos of Hailey, such sass on a 3-year-old! Everyone cooperated pretty well, even in the cold and brisk Oregon weather! My family joined us near the end of our shoot to snap a few Carlson family photos!

Kyle & Rebecca: October 2013

Wednesday, October 23, 2013. My First Marathon - Kyle Monson. I began running in April, but the first two months were hardly marathon training months. I was only able to accumulate 34 miles, with a long run of 5.5 miles. Very pedestrian, but this slow start was all I could handle after a long winter of packing on the pounds. It was at that point that my confidence grew that I could not only complete a marathon, but RUN a marathon and enjoy it. MILES 0 - 5. MILES 5 - 13. MILES 13 - 21:. Hearing the finish...

Kyle & Rebecca: December 2012

Sunday, December 30, 2012. To conclude our December family vacation, we all headed to Denver, Colorado to witness the marriage of Miles Scott Monson to Jenna Lee Woodward. It was snowy and bitter cold, but the Monsons always know how to have fun together! Karen, Miles, Aunt Ruth, Derek, Mikael and baby drew flew out with Kyle, myself, Hailey and Kate on Friday morning. We left for the airport at 4 am and had a decent flight with the kids. No huge meltdowns is considered a success! Kate and Drew: 6 mos.

Kyle & Rebecca: February 2013
http://monsoneverafter.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 28, 2013. We have been waiting for snow since late October. We expected upon moving from Oregon to central Illinois, we'd be living in a winter wonderland come Christmas time. This was not the case, not even close! Our first snow came December 15th, and throughout the winter months meteorologists reported the area was 11-inches below the yearly average for snowfall! We ended up with 6-inches of snow, and for us Oregonians, it felt like a blizzard! Look at all that snow! Kate didn't las...

Kyle & Rebecca: September 2012

Saturday, September 22, 2012. This year was by far, the most fun birthday we've had with Hailey! At this age, things just 'clicked' for her and she could really understand all the birthday fun was about her! I was SO eager to make this day stand out from the rest, so I made sure to plan some special things for her. I went to pick her up from preschool with 2 giant birthday balloons. I'm telling you, 3-year-olds LOVE balloons. She just kept smiling and laughing a them. She had a birthday stick...We went s...

Kyle & Rebecca: Becoming Prepared: Our Start
http://monsoneverafter.blogspot.com/2014/04/becoming-prepared-our-start.html
Monday, April 7, 2014. Becoming Prepared: Our Start. However- as we found out, you can never predict how things will be 6-months from now. As I packed up those bags in April, I had NO IDEA that in November I'd be huddled with my family in our dark basement, as a E-F4 Tornado swept through my town. Those emergency bags gave me the peace of mind I needed to stay calm, knowing that no matter what happened, we would be ready. November 17, 2013. In the days following the tornado, homeowners were required by s...
