http://journey2number4.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
We brought Sarah Kalkidan home from Ethiopia on January 9, 2008 when she was 19 months old. Monday, March 23, 2009. Adoption blog has retired. It's been awhile since I've posted on this blog. The time has come to retire my adoption blog because we've overcome most hurdles associated with adopting Sarah and have acclimated quite well to normal family life. I do update regularly on my normal family blog at diariesofthewildlife.blogspot.com. So feel free to visit us over there! Happy springtime to everyone!

There are so many things your Dad and I love about you. We love your kind and generous heart. We love your desire to obey God and your parents. We love how your smile reaches all the way up to your eyes. We love how you think about others, and have a lot of courage to stand up for what is right. We love how you are a leader out on the ball diamond and football field. You never give up. We love that! Love Mom and Dad. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. http://jessicahoekstra.blogspot.com/2011/03/5.html
Meta turns 5 today. We've been talking about his birthday since March 4th of last year (the day after his last birthday). This kid loves birthdays! When we first came home from ET, we celebrated his sister's birthday. Then a bunch of cousins and neighbors and school friends. He wondered if it would ever be his turn. Then it was and he realized how quickly it went. So he started looking forward to 5. And today is the day! March 3, 2011 at 5:18 PM. May God continue to bless your beautiful family -. I total...

quite e-musing: Something new--making flour tortillas
http://whatmypenthrewup2.blogspot.com/2009/01/something-new-making-flour-tortillas.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Something new- making flour tortillas. Flour tortilla recipe (makes 8). 2 cups flour (all-purpose or bread flour, cake flour should be avoided). 1/2 cup vegetable shortening. 3/4 cup warm water. I mixed all the ingredients in my KitchenAid using the pastry paddle 'til it was a nice stretchy ball of dough. Then I divided the dough into eight round-ish balls. Place your tortilla directly into the frying pan. You don't need to add any oil to the pan, they won't stick. As you can...

quite e-musing: November 2008
http://whatmypenthrewup2.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2008. Last night Grandpop Hoffman went home to be with the Lord. He was 91 years old. It's odd to feel at peace knowing he is finally gone, yet having such a deep sadness that it keeps creeping up on me wave after wave. I'm gonna miss my 15 second phone conversations before he would "hand me back to grandmom", our little inside jokes, and just knowing that he's there for a hug anytime I'm in NJ. I know I'll see him again. Where his new body can keep up with his quick wit. The pictu...

Journey2Number4: Worth the listen
http://journey2number4.blogspot.com/2008/12/worth-listen.html
We brought Sarah Kalkidan home from Ethiopia on January 9, 2008 when she was 19 months old. Friday, December 12, 2008. I love this song, made me cry last year when we hadn't yet traveled to bring Sarah home. Now that we are home, it's a great reminder to pray for all the other children all over the world who are orphans. Yeahit made me cry! December 16, 2008 at 9:14 AM.
