May 17, 2015. May 17, 2015. Another broken Garmin, but I think I can fix this one. My headlight is actually a lot better than the photo shows, but running at night-time is very different experience to during the day. I’m looking forward to the 4 x long hills coming up in the program soon! 3 x long hills. Today at the 2. Race of the Rogaine Series I couldn’t defend my winning streak and finished 3. Trigger Words and Mental Mistakes. February 15, 2015. February 15, 2015. Marion set a good course for AOTC this Saturday on Telephone Track which was a great opportunity to redeem myself after my messy runs at Tour De Peninsula. My session aim was to use my trigger words consistently to drive technical process and forget about the bigger picture of my training and performance. I call this process focus. Firstly take a look at my GPS on my DOMA page. Marion’s extended middle distance training course.

3rd at NZ Champs Sprint. April 3, 2015. April 3, 2015. I’m very happy with my 3. In the sprint race at NZ Champs this Easter weekend. I had a good race with only a few hesitations and but didn’t have the legs to climb any higher on the podium. The big relief for me is starting the weekend with confidence in my navigation and now I’m going into the middle distance tomorrow feeling very good! GPS from NZ Champs Sprint. Nick Hann 2nd, Duncan Morrison 1st, Gene Beveridge 2nd. This entry was posted in Racing.

January 6, 2015. January 6, 2015. Of January I ran in the Oceania Relay Champs in an amazing setting bellow Mt Barrow on the Benbullen map. This was another opportunity for me to get some high speed navigation. I was only racing for the second New Zealand team but pulled out a good performance to be the first New Zealander home on the first leg behind New Zealand and Australia. A few seconds after the start with Mt Barrow in the Background. The front of the pack heading out over the paddocks.

Big win at Goat Kaimai. March 30, 2015. March 30, 2015. Last Saturday I took some revenge on Shay Williamson and Chris Morrissey at The Goat Goes Bush Kaimai to take my first win in a big trail race. Since finishing third to these 2 at The Goat Tongariro in December, I have been looking forward to this rematch as I believed I could beat them if everything went to plan on race day. Garmin Connect link here. Some pre-race banter as usual. The dense Kaimai bush. Having a few quick words at the prize giving.

JWOC Recap – Gene Beveridge
http://genebeveridge.co.nz/jwoc-recap
July 16, 2015. July 16, 2015. When I first discovered the feasibility of coaching the NZ team for JWOC this year in Norway I was very excited and put my name forward. I knew most of the team well from previous coaching I had done and I got the job alongside manager Anna Robertson. This was her 3. In the middle distance B-final and the women’s relay team placed the highest they had in recent years, while the men’s relay team slipped 1 place down from last year’s 6 place, but still keeping us amongst the s...
