Scotland: Forth Bridges New and Old
http://scotland-scotland.blogspot.com/2015/06/forth-bridges-new-and-old.html
Forth Bridges New and Old. I have always loved the Forth Rail Bridge as I remember as a kid (many years ago) throwing out pennies from the train as I went across the bridge to Aberdour where my grandfather had a couple of small boats. Nowadays you can't get the windows open in a modern train so nobody gets to through a lucky penny or sixpence out of a train while going over the rail bridge. Pictures below of the Rail Bridge, old and new Road Bridge. Scotland castles and brochs. Edinburgh - Visit Edinburgh.

Caithness Sunrise at 4 am. Scotland: Loch Scarmclate, Caithness
http://scotland-scotland.blogspot.com/2015/07/loch-scarmclate-caithness.html
Loch Scarmclate, Caithness. The loch is accessed by a small single track road that also passes over a railway and care has to be taken while going over the railway. A phone has to be used to check for trains passing and to get permission to go over the railway track. If you visit this loch to go fishing then a permit is required however for bird watching or a nature study visit then you are able to visit this area without permission, remembering that the land is a farm and you need to act responsibly.

Scotland Caithness and Loch More. I spent a fair bit of time photographing this view and climbed down the wooden stairs to get a better view from the river. This area has brochs, ancient burial grounds and dovecots (you can see it at the right of the mill) according to the OS Explorer Map 450. In fact the area is covered with ancient settlements and castles. The public road ends at Loch More where the Thurso River is fed by dam with a salmon ladder. Scotland castles and brochs.
