Swimming for all ages provides a wonderful mode of exercise that shows improvements in one’s cardiovascular and flexibility levels. Children can especially experience marked improvements in coordination and self-confidence. Unlike running, it’s very difficult to trudge through the water without proper technique. fitLIFE uses concepts from Terry Laughlin’s Total Immersion Method and experience gained from eight years as a swimming instructor to tailor a lesson suited to improve the swimmer’s ability.

How it all began:. I’m not the most coordinated person with a ball, so I excel more at “straight-line sports” like running and swimming. In high school I was captain of the swim team and played varsity volleyball. As a summer job I taught swimming lessons at the Y. While I’m no longer am a competitor (other than my Sunday night volleyball/drinking team) I still get tremendous joy promoting health and wellness. I need movement in my life!
