from the Biblio Files: Science Club: Slime
http://frenchizal.blogspot.com/2015/07/science-club-slime.html
From the Biblio Files. If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." Albert Einstein. This week was our final meeting of our summer science club, and I saved the best (and messiest) for last. We watched a short video about polymers, then it was time to make our slime! Unlike previous weeks, for this program I led the experiment and asked the children and their families to follow along with me. Book Club: Bad Kitty.

From the Biblio Files. If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." Albert Einstein. Child: "What's an encyclopedia? Me: "It's like Google, but in a book instead.". Because this was a labor-intensive experiment, I asked the patrons to work together as a table, and it was neat to see different families working together to create their bridges. In the end, happy children tested their bridges and carried them ou...

A Year of Nonfiction Discovery | Life Between the Coffee Spoons

Life Between the Coffee Spoons. A Year of Nonfiction Discovery. It’s no secret that I’m a fiction girl at heart. As I’ve been trying to branch out a bit more, I included a lot more nonfiction in my reading this year and was not disappointed. Here is most of what I read, in no particular order. What We See When We Read. This was a random find that turned out to be really interesting. When was the last time you thought about what you think about, what you visualize, while you read? Skipping through the Digital Landscape. I love the internet. It allows me to connect with people in ways I only ever dreamed of. My interest is in the use of web tools to communicate online. This could be for personal expression, more effective communication or to promote services and products. I currently work for An Óige. On a sucky note, I have not surfed in a while, but this will be remedied shortly. If you would like to connect with me professionally you can do so on LinkedIn. What do you think?
