A little slice of my life. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS WEEK? I think I blinked because this week has almost disappeared! Here is one of those little dresses I found recently on sale - the $15 one. Love the way I look in a dress! This one seems too short-waisted. The bolero sweater I have had a couple of years. It will take some getting used to if I wear dresses again on a regular basis. Steak salad - this is what was for dinner a couple of nights ago. One of each - a dozen! It is just too too too hot! Sometime...

A little slice of my life. I finally finished working on Santa Claus! I had always wanted to do this, so this year I did it. He was hard. To paint. Who knew? I have redone his face about six times because the first go 'round, he looked like Joan Collins in drag. I thought the hair and the fur would be the hardest part, but that came together pretty easily. It was the face. I gessoed it out and started over several times. I think I am better at painting glamour girls. I got all the leopard pillows done!

A little slice of my life. DECEMBER 10, 1936. King Edward as he abdicated his throne for the woman he loved. It was raining that day in Atlanta. The little girl on the right facing the camera is the present-day Queen Elizabeth. The Duke of York, father of Elizabeth as the new king. A glamour shot of Mrs. Simpson. She was a serious clotheshorse. These photos of the coronation were a few months later, in April, from another paper. Elizabeth is fourth from the right. The public loved her even as a child.
