Thursday, September 06, 2012. Ginger's Cupcakes and Desserts. Logo and character design. The wonderfully fun project I got to work on this past month. I was asked to create the character Ginger as well as a logo for a local bakery. Anna, the very talented baker who runs the shop (I know this because I got to sample the cupcakes today! Friday, January 04, 2013. The Sketchbook Project 2013. So we looked at the tour topics and choose together, and discussed our plans for the chosen topic. As soon as we get our sketchbook in the mail we will start working on it, we have until August 15th to hand it in. So stay tunned, we plan on posting our progress as we go! In the mean time, if you are interested in participating in the Sketchbook Project, here's the link. It's open for all ages, so a great project for kids and adults alike :D.

Monday, December 03, 2012. Elliott and I made an advent calendar last week, to help us countdown to Christmas. I made the cards out of card stock I had in the house, and Elliott decorated them with glitter, stickers and buttons (again, whatever we had kicking around the house! Or if you are good at sewing there are lovely patterns at Spoonflower. Bake cookies for a neighbour. Complement 3 people today. Write and mail a letter to a friend to tell them how special they are. Hug everyone in your family.

Friday, July 20, 2012. Playing in the veggie garden. Honey I Shrunk the Kids style. This summer has been a busy one so far. With both kids home full time, and work I've not had much time for just playing around art. But here's a fun one. The kids have planted a veggie garden. They love "playing" in it, I took it one step further. Gotta love Photoshop ;) I know my kids get a kick out of it! These veggies are doing amazingly well too, I bought the seeds from Cubit's. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. It's been a long while since I've participated in Illustration Friday. But I did want to start up again. The nice part of I.F. is that you can practice drawing using an idea that is not your own. It's good to be practiced doing this since clients never say "Draw whatever you want" ;). Anyway, here's my interpretation of the word Wings. Books, in my mind, give children wings! Such a cute way to send a great message! And I agree - IF is wonderful practice! 30 January, 2013.
