Thirteen – Unlucky for Some. Posted on July 8, 2016. Some people believe that thirteen is an unlucky number. It’s thirteen years this week since my accident. I have a small part of my brain that can cleverly con me into doing almost anything. I had finally given in and bought a pony for the children. My middle son and youngest daughter were reasonable riders but too young to go off on their own. Walking alongside them when they were. Read More. Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window).

Posted on August 7, 2016. In Getting Back Out There. I’m the sort of person who falls into ruts. I celebrate my birthday on the same day every year. I go to work, come home, cook dinner and go to bed. I pretty much follow the same routine every day to be honest, regardless of whether or not it’s my birthday. And as for the disruptive surge…… Once upon a time a disruptive surge was all about breaking rules and sticking two fingers up to the world. So, Fitbit fully charged, a normal working Friday demonstr...

Thirteen – Unlucky for Some. Posted on July 8, 2016. Some people believe that thirteen is an unlucky number. It’s thirteen years this week since my accident. Quality family time, fresh air and a nice way to get fit. More than that, I knew – honestly – that one week of riding would deliver a pert backside to die for and wonderfully toned thighs. Jilly Cooper, look out! How wrong I was…. Oh the indignity of it all. Finally delivered to A&E, there seemed to be a crowd of people around me as my clothes w...

Posted on February 15, 2017. Wandering up and down the aisles at the supermarket, a very pleasant assistant asked if he could help me. “Yes please”, I replied, “can you tell me what I came in for? 8221; Apparently he had no idea…………well, that makes two of us. This menopausal fog descends on me from nowhere. I always thought that men gained a career advantage whilst women took maternity breaks (sour grapes? I did it five. Read More. Eccentric Musings and Observations. Given Up On Your Blog Yet? March 27, 2016. Why do I blog? Blast and complete collapse of the electrical grid can slow the progress. That or a zombie apocalypse. Which brings me to the question. Why do. My initial success, was limited. After two and a half months, with a handful of followers and sporadic site visits, I was ready to pack it in. Doubts crept in, questions swirled. Does anyone care about what I write? Is it all crap? Am I kidding myself? I stopped and reas...

Simply Scribbles
Monday, August 10, 2015. Today was a good day. I'm not going to go into the details, but I just feel like spilling something or other. I attended a bookmaking and block printing camp with two of my good friends, Olivia and Maria. We made cool books and prints and I got to spend six hours doing art with my friends, which was fun and entertaining and just a good time. At our lunch break we walked to a nearby park and hung out on the swings, because no matter how old you get, swings are still fun. I don't t...

Thursday, March 27, 2008. Life Continues to rock. Ali Edwards and Elsie Flannigan are my two favorite scrapbookers. It was so much fun to get to interview them! I loved talking to Ali about her book: Life Artist. It is such a cool concept. And see more interviews here. Tuesday, March 25, 2008. I love my job! Remember awhile back when I announced that I rocked my own socks and things were going really well at work? This is one of the things I was excited about. Thanks for the interview, Elsie! I'm a 30-something-year-old who is learning to balance life, work, studying and family. I love books, music, the colour pink and red wine. This is my journey, my life's scribbles. An unwanted trip down memory lane. This morning about a 12-year-old girl who committed suicide – all because the 'cool group' saw her as fat and ugly. This brought back a rush of memories from my own school years, memories that still sting 14 years after leaving school…. I’ve been told that my school experience sharpen an...
