Scribbling in the Silence. My life, as far as it pertains to maintaining a word count that isn't ashamed to be seen out in public. Oi The Quarter From Hell is now over. After my last post, my boss came up to me and said, in essence, "That project you planned to do over 3 months - yeah, that one - now needs to be done in a month and a half. Oh, and you still have to do all your other usual work as well.". But only just. It wasn't at TILT. Needless to say, there was slightly less than No Chance that I got ...

Scribbling in the Silence. My life, as far as it pertains to maintaining a word count that isn't ashamed to be seen out in public. I really should stop saying things like "next quarter should be easier" and just accept that it won't. We're becoming the go-to team around here and while that's a nice compliment, it means that we're ALWAYS busy with new projects. And probably will be for the foreseen future. At least the overtime has gone down a bit. Posted by Steven @ 12:56 PM. Comments: Post a Comment.

Scribbling in the Silence. My life, as far as it pertains to maintaining a word count that isn't ashamed to be seen out in public. Week One, Finished. After the first week of full-time work, I am happy to report that my sleep schedule is adjusting. I am no longer waking up confused when the alarm beeps at 6:15 am. I just wake up. (Under the old schedule I was going to bed at 12:30 or so and waking up at 8 am.). It'll happen, though. Posted by Steven @ 8:52 AM 0 comments. Links to this post. I've finally ...

In the House Where We Live: evolving style

http://inthehousewherewelive.blogspot.com/2010/02/evolving-style.html

In the House Where We Live. Friday, February 5, 2010. I took out the two vests and looked at them for a minute, and decided not to finish them. Wearing vests isn't really my style and I wasn't sure they would fit anyway. For the first time EVER, I decided not to finish a project, and I didn't feel bad about it. I hadn't sewn the lining to the fabric yet, so I cut out as many squares for fabric blocks as I could and then threw away what I couldn't use. Steven and Merilee Swain. Kids, Shopping and More!

In the House Where We Live: April 2009

http://inthehousewherewelive.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

In the House Where We Live. Sunday, April 12, 2009. After the excitement of the Easter party activities on Saturday, it was time to focus on the spiritual aspect of Easter today. We had a good Sacrament meeting (though I missed most of the talks- I was in the mother's room feeding Alex. Yes, we do have a TV there, but there were other mothers in the room and from where I was sitting, it was a little hard to see the TV). Happy Easter to all my blog readers and may you have a wonderful spring! We started o...

In the House Where We Live. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Day 2: At Sea and the Surprise Anniversary Party. Sunday, June 7, 2009. Our first full day on the ship. We woke up and had breakfast at the Market Cafe which was the cafeteria-style restaurant on board. It has huge windows so you can see outside. We then headed to the Versailles Room, which is a French-style decorated restaurant for dinner and a surprise anniversary party. Steven and Merilee Swain. Monday, June 15, 2009. In the House Where We Live. Monday, November 16, 2009. These are the sections I have in my Christmas Planner:. Getting the house ready (cleaning), broken down by room/area. In the House Where We Live: September 2009

http://inthehousewherewelive.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

In the House Where We Live. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. It hurts to see friends hurt. Yesterday (9/22) was one of my best friend's birthday. I actually met *A* and *L* in summer 1996 when I was living in SLC doing an internship. I lost touch with both of them for awhile.when Steven started working at Sorenson full-time, *A* was his supervisor and we have since become best friends. A* started a blog to chronicle their family's challenges. See it here. My son [and I might add, my daughter], peace be unt...

In the House Where We Live: July 2009

http://inthehousewherewelive.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

In the House Where We Live. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. After a year of talking about it, we finally replaced the rock wall in front of the house, between the front door and the garage. This is what it looked like before:. I never really liked it because I thought it was too low, and it looked really amateurish and not well done. Then Jordan started pulling some of the rocks off the top and it just went downhill from there. After the rocks were all removed:. The first few rows of stone. Next project is to re...

In the House Where We Live: nano

http://inthehousewherewelive.blogspot.com/2009/11/nano.html

In the House Where We Live. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The bigger problem I'm finding myself with is the temptation to edit. I spent a lot of my writing time today reading up some historical stuff on the internet. I'm trying to make everything historically accurate as far as the time line goes, as well as actual people, events, places, etc. That's not the point of NaNo. The point is to get the story out. Editing can come in December. Now that I've identified my problem, back to writing I go.

Scribbles in Blue

Wednesday, June 5, 2013. I haven't forgotten about my current project on here. Not at all. However I haven't been able to get back to it for a while. Life.what a jerk! Here's what I like to call a "procrasti-stration", completed earlier in the week. If you're an artist you know what this is. an art piece done while your putting off other work. Funny how inspiration suddenly strikes. :). BTW Moving this blog to tumblr soon, not sure if I'll continue to post here or not. TBD. Wednesday, February 6, 2013.

A literary/personal blog by a student and aspiring writer. @nicolefios. All the Birds in the Sky. By Charlie Jane Anders. This book was a blast. The combination of science and magic was fun and different, and the whimsical tone kept me smiling throughout. I was constantly surprised and walked away feeling refreshed; this is among the most original books I’ve read this year, and definitely worth any and all of the hype you may have heard. Series, both of which had a final installment out this year. Are co...
