Katryn is a teen when she falls in love with a Mormon missionary, which leads to her joining the LDS Church and enters an insular world of peculiar people. It is within the Church that Katryn finally experiences belonging outside her close-knit family, and yet it will be her mother’s involvement in it that will lead to its destruction. Tales Of A Wife. Poetry, #Lyricists #Songwriter, (Poems written by Onyeche Vincent Onyekachukwu). Raquo; Haiku – the water glows. Haiku – the water glows. Tales Of A Wife. It was at night. I stood amazed staring at. Call it child’s play. What I saw was sugar sweet,. The lights ran around. I stood so amazed. Feeling the disco over me. Running up and down. Rotating in diamond shapes. I could see the stars. The fishes shall theme it. Moonlight in the deep. I stood still for hours, staring. At the water glow.

What I Learned – 30 Days of Poeming – LOVE TO WRITE

https://trishwrites1.wordpress.com/2016/05/04/what-i-learned-30-days-of-poeming

What I Learned – 30 Days of Poeming. May 4, 2016. The April Poem A Day (PAD) Challenge has come to an end and I have to say I feel a mixture of relief from the pressure of coming up with something every day and sadness that it’s over because….oh so many beautiful words were written. I’m not gonna lie, I found it addictive logging onto the site all day to read the poems posted by so many talented writers. And a few days in, I remember wondering – what have I done? If anything, what I learned from the Apri...

Wednesday Poeming – LOVE TO WRITE

https://trishwrites1.wordpress.com/2016/05/04/wednesday-poeming

May 4, 2016. I must have PAD hangover because I couldn’t resist joining in on the Wednesday Poetry Prompt over on Poetic Asides to write a When Everything Stopped poem. Why didn’t everything stop. When the Doctor stood before us. And his mouth moved. His words turning the world. Why did people still laugh. Smiles shouldn’t remember how to. Why did music makers still. A new favorite song. Shouldn’t the sun dissolve. To cry permanent tears. Shouldn’t there have been. The world could no. Without you in it.

There are many ways to be a writer – LOVE TO WRITE

https://trishwrites1.wordpress.com/2016/08/23/there-are-many-ways-to-be-a-writer

There are many ways to be a writer. August 23, 2016. It’s that time of year when you’ve poured your heart and soul into writing your novel and hit send on contest entries. And you wait. And you stalk the twitter feed. And you think ‘What am I gonna do if I don’t get in? You know the truth of the matter is, a very small percentage of writers, actually ‘get in’. So how can you survive the contest trenches? Write poetry. I’ve said this before, but writing poetry forces you to measure the weight of...If you ...

Poem for the week – LOVE TO WRITE

https://trishwrites1.wordpress.com/2016/05/30/poem-for-the-week-4

Poem for the week. May 30, 2016. I don’t know why the prompts lately make me think of songs, but this one over on Poetic Asides did it again. Take the phrase Make (blank), replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. And that made me think of Angel From Montgomery. So here it is – not quite how the master poet, John Prine, wrote it – but it’s got some hurting in it. Make me a road back home. Because we’re as broken down. And dead end roads.

Life, the Universe, and Everything

Wednesday, December 5, 2012. What do I need to learn? How can I fill my life with God instead of this mess? And then I got on my laptop and stumbled (as in I looked at about ten other "devotional/Christian-y sites first") back across this blog of mine, and guess what, I still need to keep relearning and applying those lessons I recorded myself learning years ago, I still have that same natural man learning to let Christ live through me instead. Monday, June 14, 2010. So what is pain? The pain in my hands...

The Scribblings of Stu | The ramblings of an aspiring writer

The Scribblings of Stu. The ramblings of an aspiring writer. Weds poetry prompt: ‘Dreaming in Grey’. January 11, 2017. Write a dream poem. I’d long to tell you thrilling tales. Of adventures laced with danger,. Full of magic and ferocious dragons,. But it may disappoint you to learn. That my dreams more often come. In a rather mundane flavour instead. They star the same old faces. That I see while still awake,. Just cast into different roles. And thrust to other places,. Merely a tedious rearranging.
