Thursday, February 26, 2015. Why I Wake Early. I named this as a tribute to Mary Oliver. Unlike her I am not a poet but I love her poetry and mornings. I probably wake early because I am what they call a morning person. I should have named this post - why I LOVE to wake early g . I’ve only seen an owl , in the wild, once before in my life. And I have been listening to and stalking owls near my campsite all week. It was looking around - could it want one last meal? Links to this post. Scruffy has a day.

Wednesday, June 17, 2015. This week Scruffy and I headed to Great Sand Dunes National Park for our days off. We made it back to our site just in time to unhitch in the pouring rain. After the rain cleared, I decided to hike to Zapata Falls, which was labeled – point of interest -. On the road to the National Park. Four miles on the very rough road, was enough to cause Scruffy to roll his eyes and say,“ what were you thinking.”. Now, I am not sure whether it was the falls, or the road that was the POI.

Sunday, March 29, 2015. Santa Fe, NM. We had fun hanging around Santa Fe. I have lots of great memories associated with Santa Fe where Upaya Zen Center is located and where I was a resident for 15 mos. before I took to wandering. I took Scruffy to meet some folks at the Zen Center and we walked one of the trails along the river. I also enjoyed hiking with Anne and her sister Sue on one of the Dale Ball trails.
