After heat treatment application, part has been tested to verify surface hardness. In one physical test, part has been cut using band saw. As clearly illustrated, band saw blade could not penetrate through heat treated surface. TEST AFTER HEAT TREATMENT APPLICATION. HEAT TREATMENT APPLIED TO INNER SURFACE. NO HEAT TREATMENT APPLIED. In the application illustrated, the customer required increased hardness of the inner surface only. The part is used in the oil patch. See results.
