Just discovered your blog and had a good read - all the info is great and thanks for the tips, all those little things that the surgeon doesnt mention can make a huge difference in coping in the first few weeks. I couldnt be happier.

So I saw my surgeon today and she traded out those dreadful, thick elastics for something a bit more flexible and took my stitches out. Yay! May 18, 2010 at 4:44 AM. You know, thats a good question that I havent really considered. All in all, I think I would though. Not for cosmetic reasons however. I think that the whole experience has made me a stronger, more humble person. It has really opened my eyes. It was worth it. So yes, I would do it again.

I can now close my lips without significant straining in my chin muscles. The left side of my tongue is no longer soft but now has muscles similar to those on the right side of my tongue. I now know where to put my tongue in my mouth when it is resting! Got a great jaw-friendly recipe for Jaw Nom Nom? A smile connects us.

Since I’ve returned to a normal diet, I’ve been trying to make one new recipe a week for dinner. I live alone, so I make the whole recipe and eat the leftovers for other dinners and lunches.
