BLOG for sculptorstouch.com. April 19, 2013. Red Wonderstone is cream or yellow stone often with richly marbled in red or orange. It is very smooth and polishes like a semi-precious stone. BLOG for sculptorstouch.com. This year’s workshop sculptures. August 28, 2013. I wanted it to be scary, but beautiful at the same time, which demanded an odd sort of balance. I finished shaping her during the 4th day (of 5) at the workshop and spent the final day polishing. And I am now free to come clean and admit that I was worried it was simply too peculiar. The writing of Dale L. Sproule. Dale L. Sproule Bibliography. Wednesday, 6 August 2014. An Experiment in Publishing and Workshopping. I’ve recently become disenchanted with the traditional (Milford Rules) Writers Workshop format because I find it too negative and lacking in incentive to write more/keep writing. So, I’ve been looking for alternatives and here’s what I’ve come up with:. I found it on Wattpad – specifically in. Join me for a private smackdown. What is a private smackdown? Each of the four w...

Psychedelia Gothique: A Layman's Definition of Imaginary Time

The writing of Dale L. Sproule. Dale L. Sproule Bibliography. Friday, 9 January 2015. A Layman's Definition of Imaginary Time. Just watched a clip of John Oliver interviewing Stephen Hawking. When he asked Hawking which of his concepts he would most like the public to be able to appreciate and understand, Hawking responded that he would like it if more people got on board with the concept of “imaginary time.”. Imagination and memory are two separate processes that enable human beings to revisit a singula...

The writing of Dale L. Sproule. Dale L. Sproule Bibliography. Wednesday, 4 June 2014. Beaten to the Sith. Sidhe is the Irish word for Faerie. It's pronounced shee. In Scotland, shee is traditionally spelled Sith. Writing a book set in Iron Age Scotland, I used Sith by default, and was told in no uncertain terms by members of my writer's workshop that I cannot do that. Sith now belongs to Disney. Originally coopted by George Lucas for Star Wars, it was passed to Disney with the rest of the franchise.

The writing of Dale L. Sproule. Dale L. Sproule Bibliography. Friday, 12 December 2014. Back in the Hotseat Again. I’ve been in workshops for most of my writing life – and have always considered them an important, if not essential part of the process. But a few months back, I quit – and I've been sending out a lot more stories ever since. This was not my game plan! Which is fine, because I have two other stand-alone novels poised to cross the finish line. The countdown has begun. Back in the Hotseat Again.

Psychedelia Gothique: New Stories
http://dlsproule.blogspot.com/2015/05/new-stories.html
The writing of Dale L. Sproule. Dale L. Sproule Bibliography. Wednesday, 20 May 2015. It is however, a tough marketplace out there. A publication that's too easy to get into is probably not worth getting into. I started off 2015 with an inventory of half a dozen stories that has grown to twice that in the intervening months. I sold a rewrite of an older stories to start the year. Then March saw the publication of the Exile Book of New Canadian Noir. The Children of Bonetown" 9 Tales Told in the Dark #4.
