Management of Acute Dental Problems. Assess whether the patient has:. 1 Atypical jaw pain and any other signs of myocardial infarction. Eg breathlessness, chest pain. 2 Exceeded the recommended dose of pain relief medication (e.g. an adult has taken more than eight 500 mg paracetamol tablets within 24 hours).
