W Royal Concert Hall. Ay 17 August 2003. Another prolonged standing ovation! A sensational show featured the newly crowned world champion pipe band. The House of Edgar SHOTTS and DYKEHEAD Pipe band. Who won back their title the previous day at Glasgow Green. All the performers were magnificent and the audience was wonderful, standing and applauding and singing throughout the finale. A super start to our biggest ever tour, as a super Edinburgh crowd stood and cheered loudly for more. Their cheers stung the Pipes and Drums into action again and they played Highland Laddie and We're no awa tae bide awa as the rest of the massed performers left the stage and marched through the aisles waving back their appreciation to the still cheering audience. Jim Kilpatrick MBE releases the second of two statements today, addressing serious matters which he alleges contributed towards his removal from his position as leading drummer of the world champion Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band. Reports of Jim Kilpatrick's stand down first appeared on the band's official website and thereafter on the pipes drums website and the online and print versions of The Express.
