Friday, August 21, 2009. Last day in Idaho. Things that I have learned during my 13.5 months in rural Idaho:. 1 The "East Side" doesn't actually refer to the Bellevue/Kirkland/Sammamish/Redmond block. 2 People from North Idaho are prone to get really agitated if all you know about their state is potatoes. In fact, most of the potatoes eaten in Northern Idaho were actually grown in Washington. 4 I really, really need to live in a city with a Gap, a Nordstorm, a decent thrift store and an Indian restaurant.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Don't be such a hobbledehoy. Learned a new word today, courtesy of a circa 1962 French-English dictionary I found lurking around in the elementary school French room. Grand dadais , m. I asked around, but no one else seemed to have any inkling. I'd also never heard the French word dadais.
