Seam Stress

20 most recent entries. I'm planning to make a crazy patchwork quilt and was trying to think of the best way to do it before I start. I want to make it double bed size but be able to work on it in front of the TV. I though making strips might be less stressful for the hand embroidery than making it in one large piece. Does anyone have experience of doing this and can advise me? Too sad to say this isn't my first similar bungle. Sadly untill I learn to *read* my patterns, It won't be the last either.

sewing problem - help?: seam_stress

Sewing problem - help? Totally new to this community AND to sewing with a sewing machine, so. here comes the dumb question! I'm using an old singer from the early 90s and I have the handbook and all. I threaded it correctly - I think, anyway, did it all by the book. I'm trying to sew some pretty thick fleece, so I'm using a heavier needle. I need a little advice. i'm about to start doing dress making but the machine i own is fairly old and doesn't have an overedge setting on it so is there another easy-ish way to achieve the same effect? Also, re-using patterns.is it simply a case of carefully cutting and pinning them and then folding them back up and re-using it that way? Thank you in advance! Post a new comment. I originally wanted to make the pink one the doll's face, but it was too small. A work in progress. I stuffed the body a bit much ( the head has less stuffing. it's kind of soft), anyway her shoulder is ripping, although I think it' too late to fix it. Post a new comment. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait for it to arrive! Also, last week, my mother-in-law went to a yard sale and came home with a metal skein winder/swift for me, and she only paid $3.00 for it. I put the buttons on the shirt I posted last week, so it's now officially finished. Aug 9th, 2005. I'll post my "before" picture...
