It's Always Tuesday in Philadelphia. Playing with P Mode. So I dabble in photography. I have a pretty nice dSLR and an extremely solid point and shoot along with my iPhone which can be handy and take a surprisingly good picture in a pinch. Anyway, my brother recently acquired the same dSLR that I have - the Nikon D5100. Love this camera. Great sensor. Lightweight. Lots of capabilities. It's Always Tuesday in Philadelphia. My youngest, who is now nine, watched Jaws for the first time last night. A couple of years ago I had her older sister watch it. The youngest asked why she had to watch. It's obviously a scary movie. I told her there were two reasons. First, I want them to learn how to get past fear - the oldest swore she wouldn't get into the ocean again after watching the movie but was in the water the next day. The second reason is it's an awesome movie. Just terrific.

We purchased Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million USD back in the 19th century. Surely it's appreciated. Who is the most influential public intellectual of the last twenty-five years? On June 27, 2013 at 5:07 pm. A while ago I asked a related question. But my answer blew it on one major possibility. Doesn’t Andrew Sullivan have a reasonably strong claim to that title, especially after the recent Supreme Court decisions on gay marriage? Here is a current map of where gay marriage is legal.
