Ein 100er FAI am Niederrhein. Der Tag versprach besonderes Streckenflugpotential: gute Steigwerte, Basis bis 1.700 m und mäßiger Wind aus SO. Eine gute Gelegenheit mal wieder „Oneway“ über den Rhein Richtung Osten zu fliegen. Der Vorteil an dieser Route ist, dass man sich hinter Rheinberg um keinen Luftraum mehr kümmern muss und die hohe Basis voll auskurbeln kann. Das ist doch zum Verzweifeln. Beim gestrigen Neukirchener Lotteriespiel hatten Theo und ich nur Nieten gezogen: fünf mal gestartet und keinen Anschuss gefunden. Grrrr. Holger, Erika, Peter und Christian hatten mehr Glück! Ich habe mich dann mühsam nördlich Richtung Rhein gekämpft, immer gegen die Westströmung vorhaltend, um mich nicht in die Kontrollzonen über dem Ruhrgebiet versetzen zu lassen. Nördlich von Dinslaken war dann Schluss nachdem sich die letzte vielversprechende Wolke vor meinen Augen aufgelöst hat. Peter flog 41,1 km.

Wat is den hier los? Wir trauten unseren Augen nicht, als wir uns am Sonntag Nachmittag auf der Halde Norddeutschland zum Groundhandeln trafen: Nordic Walker, Jogger, jede Menge Spaziergänger, Mountainbiker, Lenkdrachen und ein paar Kiter. Jaroslaw Suchorski starte gestern von dem Schleppgelände an der Halde Norddeutschland und flog 83.6 km. Bei den vielen Cirren und Altocumuli hätte ich niemals gedacht soweit zu kommen. Ich sah mich eigentlich schon vor dem Rhein stehen. Ab Haltern war das Wetter richtig toll, dass ich dennoch abgesofen bin lag einfach an einer falschen Entscheidung.
