Cedar Mesa Exploring | searching for the middle of nowhere

Searching for the middle of nowhere. Loving the wonders of the world. Asymp; Leave a comment. The time we spent at Muley Point was spent exploring. My hat off to the volunteers at the Kane Gulch Ranger Station that dispense good quality friendly information. Following are some photos taken while exploring. Enjoy. House of Fire, South Mule Canyon. Rocket leading the way to the House of Fire. Cliff ruins by Tower Ruins. Enlarge to look for the ruins. Sweet garden along the Tobie Canyon trail.

Searching for the middle of nowhere. Loving the wonders of the world. Asymp; 1 Comment. I moved my home to an area north of I-70 at the Temple Mt. Road exit. This is a large boondock camping area about a mile north of the exit. The trail to the Rochester Panel. Not too bad if you don’t have dogs on leashes. I did discover that there is a nice camp site at the trail head. And if the nice site is occupied, there is room to camp in the parking lot. View from the Rochester Panel camp site. Searching for the middle of nowhere. Loving the wonders of the world. Asymp; Leave a comment. This is my second trip to Utah and on my way home I drove a portion of I-70 that I hadn’t driven before. To my surprise, views of Utah still amazed me. I think of it like being at Disneyland, around every turn there is something new to surprised and amaze. I-70 slicing the San Rafael Reef. All the photos are from view points on the highway. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Searching for the middle of nowhere. Loving the wonders of the world. Asymp; 2 Comments. Valley of the Gods. What was the favorite part of your trip? Some of the Wander The West group. In Moab when I needed to replace my lost cheater bar needed to mount my weight distribution bars, the owner of Red Rock Diesel Semi Truck and Trailer Repair; not having the item to sell me, told me to go buy a piece of pipe and he would bend it for me. When I returned, he did bent it for free. Larr; Previous post. You are ...
Farewell Bend | searching for the middle of nowhere

Searching for the middle of nowhere. Loving the wonders of the world. Asymp; Leave a comment. It was a long day driving from Tooele, Utah to the Farwell Bend campground in Oregon. Three states in one day. I pulled into the campground about a half hour before sunset. The pictures below are a view of the winter camping area. An area with more mature trees was closed for the season. Sunrise from the campground. I saw no showers in the winter area restrooms. Larr; Previous post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Bosque Bill's Backroads: June 2015
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Thursday, June 11, 2015. Spring Shakedown 2015 - Part 3. I am organizing this trip report into separate sections to both make it easier to read and to organize the geographical areas for your future trip planning. Comprises part of Wednesday and part of Saturday covering El Malpais National Monument. This breaks the timeline, but puts all of El Malpais in one section. This Part III covers El Morro National Monument. From Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.
Bosque Bill's Backroads: April 2014
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Sunday, April 27, 2014. Chiricahua and Gila Mountains. First Trip of the Season. I wanted a four or five day trip to "shake down" to start the year. As it was early in the season, a southern venture sounded best. I had made a few trips down to the Chiricahua Mountains, in SE Arizona, in years past to bird and stayed at the lodge in Portal. I'd noticed great camping areas those times, so wanted to try those out, and enjoy the scenery. I also wanted to try out my.
Bosque Bill's Backroads: Sandia Crest Trail - July 2015

Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Sandia Crest Trail - July 2015. July 23, 2015. Although this is primarily a travel/camping blog, I didn't travel very far for this day trip. Nonetheless, as most of you are not local to the Albuquerque area, you would be traveling if you came to central New Mexico, so I feel justified in posting these photos here. The views are spectacular and the wildflowers were in full bloom. Most of the flower photos were taken with my macro lens,...
Bosque Bill's Backroads: September 2013
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Saturday, September 14, 2013. Northern New Mexico, featuring Carson National Forest - Part 2. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. If you're following along from yesterday's post, we've just crossed the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge west of Taos. A map of the entire journey is at the top of the previous post. US-64 turns north after crossing the bridge and passes an unusual housing "development." This is The Greater World Earthship Community. From the BLM website. After crossi...

Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Thursday, January 23, 2014. California Trip: October 2013. Big Sur, Kirk Creek, and Elephant Seals. Big Sur - Where the continent meets the deep blue sea. The final leg of my California trip last October took me through the spectacular scenery along the central California coastline. Though I reached the coast at Monterrey, I had only limited time and didn't stop there or in Carmel, two gorgeous locales that you should visit if you haven't already. Thanks for com...
Bosque Bill's Backroads: January 2015
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Saturday, January 24, 2015. This is another vintage trip report. I drove a loop through three states to see the sights, camp and visit friends and family. This was during the period while I was living in Austin, TX and driving a 1999 Toyota Avalon. I camped using the tent I'd purchased years previously for bicycle touring. Bosque Bill's Backroads: San Juan Mountains, CO - June 2015 - Part 2

Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Sunday, July 19, 2015. San Juan Mountains, CO - June 2015 - Part 2. June 24th to 27th. Remember to click on a photo to view at a larger size. Friday, June 26. A chilly morning. It was much colder at this elevation (around 10K), abetted by the affect of the ice cold stream running down the canyon. I packed up after breakfast and headed down 611 to turn left on the Dunton Road, AKA County 38, AKA FS-535, to the Navajo Lake trail head. Lower section of the trail.

Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Sunday, July 19, 2015. San Juan Mountains, CO - June 2015 - Part 1. June 24th to 27th. Remember to click on a photo to view at a larger size. Part 1 of 2. Wednesday, June 24th. US 550 to Durango. I turned left at Durango on US-160, then took the CO-184 shortcut to Dolores at Mancos. I'd avoided this stretch last year, as previously the asphalt had been narrow and rough. I was happy to see the entire length had been widened and resurfaced. Thursday, June 25th.
Bosque Bill's Backroads: October 2014
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Monday, October 27, 2014. Autumn Color: Colorado Part 3. In Search of Autumn Color. A reprise of the map showing my overall journey. Presented as a convenience. Part 3 of 3: October 7. This is the last installment of the story of my trip to Colorado to find and enjoy colorful fall leaves. In this section I drive south from Leadville, along the Arkansas River, then explore Marshall Pass, and finally take the Silver Thread Byway, CO-149, toward home. A scenic spot...
Bosque Bill's Backroads: August 2014
http://bosquebill.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Camera and Photo Info. Who is Bosque Bill? Monday, August 11, 2014. Ophir, Kebler, Schofield, and Cottonwood - July 2014. The post title refers to the four main Colorado mountain passes I traversed this trip. I also crossed Raton Pass on the way home, but that pass on the Interstate is not in the same league as the others. Two of the above passes can be easily crossed in even the lowest slung passenger car; the other two require high-clearance 4WD. Composite photo of Sphinx Moths in Northern New Mexico.

Searching For A Better Way
Searching For A Better Way. A Journal of Recovery Based on a Progressive Pagan Spirituality. Friday, January 19, 2007. Inspired by Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary. Like everything else, I shall doubtless fail to complete it. A natural response to reality. It should be noted that this response requires a fair amount of energy. A more efficient response is depression. The permanent achievement of peace on an individual basis. The temporary state of being between birth and death. During this per...
