Eric's Gear Page: DigiTech Main Squeeze
http://ericsgearpage.blogspot.com/2012/12/digitech-main-squeeze.html
Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Studio Comps on the Floor. Eventually this pedal was sold simply because it wasn't going to serve me very well as the first pedal on my pedalboard. The Main Squeeze wasn't terrible, but there's better comps out there. I replaced this with Jacques. Compressor, which is smaller, analog (and battery powered), sounds better, and had a great buffer in the bypass.

Eric's Gear Page: DR Black Beauties
http://ericsgearpage.blogspot.com/2011/05/dr-black-beauties.html
Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Friday, May 13, 2011. It seems a set of strings (like beer, soda, and cigarettes) is something where everyone has “their” brand. I'm not even knocking the mindset- I've strung my bass with a lot of different strings by a lot of different manufacturers, and I always go back to DRs. I found my brand. Better than most other strings. Why did I sound so good? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Friday, November 30, 2012. Fuzz, Overdrive, or Disortion. Terms, fleshing out the way I work on this site. Complaints can be lodged and discussed on the effects pedal forum of your choice. but please leave me (and my comments section) out of it. Making an "amp-like" distortion is the concept behind the Distortion Pedal. For example, was initially advertised as giving a Marshall sound to ...

Eric's Gear Page: Jacques Fat Burner
http://ericsgearpage.blogspot.com/2011/04/jacques-fat-burner.html
Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Saturday, April 9, 2011. I bought this pedal to serve as the first pedal in my signal chain on my pedalboard. Jacques pedals tend to have a solid buffer in the bypass, and I specifically wanted a good buffer as the first unit in my signal path. Even when switched off, this pedal is important. Eric's Gear Page: Catalinbread Echorec
http://ericsgearpage.blogspot.com/2012/12/catalinbread-echorec.html
Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Thursday, December 6, 2012. Based on the Binson Echorec, a not-exactly-tape, 4-playback-head echo machine, the Catalinbread Echorec is built for that specific style of multi-tap echo. As I flipped through the Program select and found a pulse I recognized from Pink Floyd, I had a eureka. S the David Gilmour rhythmic echo.". This is certainly no knock against Catalinbread- their new echo p...

Eric's Gear Page: Burning of I
http://ericsgearpage.blogspot.com/2011/04/burning-of-i.html
Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. I've been itching to add live shows and bands to the gearpage at roughly the same time I thought to switch over to blog format. For the most part, I want to snap pictures of pedalboards and write about gear- I want to let SeattleAudiophile. Actually review the shows. but I was at this one so I'm feeing the need to step up. And show-stealing flash. There are a...

Eric's Gear Page: December 2013

Lots and lots of gear (and pedalmakers, stores, and shows. mostly in Seattle,) as hosted by the tenor bassist of ubik. Monday, December 30, 2013. It occurs to me that I have been neglecting this page, but I have a really good excuse:. Philosophy that prevents me writing about them. It has been a while, sure. but that's why. The reviews still get plenty of hits and the content still stands, but new pedals are sort of hard for me to come by right now, so. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Eric on the charts.
