Growing stuff in my smallish suburban yard
Welcome Spring (almost)! | My Backyard Garden
https://seattlegarden.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/welcome-spring-almost
Growing stuff in my smallish suburban yard. It’s a new year, and a new garden. I learned so much last year, growing (or trying to grow) a vegetable garden; unfortunately, the Seattle area had a bit of a bad weather year for edibles (at least in my garden). So this year I’ll be scaling the edibles. Back, and focusing more on the flowers and other ornamentals that I love. I’ll still have my blueberries (maybe this year. Always the first on the scene! Bleeding hearts coming up. It was filed under gardening.
Garden to-do list (with ugly photos) | My Backyard Garden
https://seattlegarden.wordpress.com/2011/04/10/garden-to-do-list-with-ugly-photos
Growing stuff in my smallish suburban yard. Garden to-do list (with ugly photos). Of it Not just the usual spring pruning and weeding, but also areas that I’ve neglected for years. This is the year for us to do some major work, I think, and whip things into shape. Here’s what I’ve got planned. I should probably sweep the porch from time to time. A young but crowded border bed. Another view of the front border. Grass hates this area. One nice little friend in the side yard. Much work needed here. My rosem...

Garden mystery – what IS this? | My Backyard Garden
https://seattlegarden.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/garden-mystery-what-is-this
Growing stuff in my smallish suburban yard. Garden mystery – what IS this? In 2009 I planted two Highbush blueberry plants. The first year I got lots of delicious berries from both. Last year, though, only one produced berries; the other was healthy and even grew quite large, but never had a single flower or berry. I told it that if it didn’t produce berries this year, it was going in the dumpster. And I just looked, and there’s a blueberry plant at its base! So what is this thing? Enter your comment here.
Amazing ties and scarves | My Backyard Garden
https://seattlegarden.wordpress.com/2011/03/25/amazing-ties-and-scarves
Growing stuff in my smallish suburban yard. Amazing ties and scarves. I love Etsy; it’s the best of two worlds: the ease of buying stuff online and the pleasure of buying handmade crafts. And the selection is huge. And you get the opportunity to support people who actually make things, with their own hands, like you and I always say we’re going to do but there’s never time. Anyway, I just got these two amazing scarves from a shop called Cyberoptix Tie Lab. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Skippy'...

S: March 2010
http://sonyareasor.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 21, 2010. One of the best parts of spring is getting outside to work in the yard and garden. This year I've decided to clear out what was a flower garden in my back yard and dedicate it just to growing edibles. This will be my first real vegetable garden, so I've started a blog to track how it goes (and how it grows). If you want to check it out, and maybe follow along as I either systematically kill everything I plant or harvest lots of yummy fresh veggies, it's here. Monday, March 15, 2010.

Saturday, March 7, 2015. Growing Cannabis in Seattle. I recently had the opportunity to tour the cannabis growing operation at New Leaf Enterprises. In Seattle. I've done some propagation and greenhouse work in the past, so I found the tour fascinating. Plus, indoor operations can control everything: heat, humidity, water, nutrients, and day length (i.e. periods of light and darkness). Not surprisingly, users say that the quality of products grown indoors is superior to what is grown outdoors. Once outsi...
