Our team will help anyone who is homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. Preventing homelessness is a high priority; this may be dealing with rent arrears, anti-social behaviour or other possible breaches of tenancy. Help is also given to those who need a home to find one. In partnership with Sussex Probation Area, we work with offenders in Hastings and Eastbourne on accommodation and support issues. In 1986 initial funding allowed the appointment of paid staff and after a period of sharing space with the local Congregational Church, Seaview moved into the Southwater Centre in October 1989, when John Evans was appointed as Director. Mike Cornish succeeded John in 2011 and lead the organisation for five years. Seaview is enriched by a team of volunteers, peer workers and Seaview’s Awareness for Action group. We provide a warm and welcoming building where people can find help, comfort, friendship and inspiration. We help those in need of housing get a home, including short-term crisis accommodation to prevent rough sleeping. We offer a range of personal and group activities to help and encourage people to realise their full potential.
