Tuesday, September 15, 2009. 1 Does not a pedagogical approach premised on intercultural rhetoric presuppose the fact that we know about other cultures as much as our own culture? How valid is this assumption since culture is not a static phenomenon; instead , it is dynamic and evolves with the passage of time? Then what are the modalities we can apply to know other cultures so that everyone’s cultures is equally recognized and valued to inform a standard pedagogical approach for ESL or EFL context?

From Second Language Literacy to World Englishes

From Second Language Literacy to World Englishes. Monday, May 24, 2010. In this World Englishes seminar, professionals from different teaching contexts came together. They teach English in different contexts worldwide. For the first day, going through the seminal works that set the foundations of World Englishes (henceforth, WEs) paradigm already gives an overview of the dynamic aspect of the English language and of its spread due to colonial reasons, migration flows, and globalization.
