http://learningpockets.blogspot.com/2013/08/monday-made-it.html
Monday, August 12, 2013. I'm linking up today with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics. To show you something I made this week. It's a present for my fabulous teammates as a welcome back gift. (If you know my teammates personally, SHHH, don't tell them they have gifts coming.) It's a sticky note holder. I used a 5x7 acrylic frame, a piece of white cardstock, a polka dot pattern from Powerpoint, a free border from Krista of Creative Clips. That I could do. Labels: Monday Made It. Theme and Inference in Dr. Seuss - Teaching in Room 6
http://www.teachinginroom6.com/2014/02/theme-and-inference-in-dr-seuss.html
Science and Social Studies. Theme and Inference in Dr. Seuss. Next week, as we know, is Dr. Seuss' birthday. Like many of you, my school is doing a whole week of "Read Across America" celebration and I wanted to participate in the celebration, but everything I was finding that dealt with Dr. Seuss was just too primary. While my kids enjoy cutting and coloring, I wanted them to do a bit more. On day one, I read The Cat in the Hat (Beginner Books(R). You can get a copy of the discussion questions here.

I'd like to share a few ideas for Cinco de Mayo learning in the primary classroom. Here are a couple of books I'll be using for read aloud: Cinco de Mouse-O! By Judy Cox and Chicks and Salsa. Both of these books are really fun for this time of year and provide jumping off points for some discussion of Cinco de Mayo and some Mexican traditions. By clicking on the picture below.
