He still dreams of snowy forests and distant train whistles. This influenced the watercolors for this book immensely. Favorite things include but are not limited to: fine chocolate, unusual yet well crafted music, abandoned buildings with owls in them, certain shades of blue, nostalgia and robots.

Dan helped make world-wide e-mail a reality in the 1980s, allowed people to use the Internet to file income taxes in the 1990s, and designed ways for people to use their digital camera images to save their memories forever in the 2000s.
