DavidFalloure: May 2011
http://davidfalloure.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 13, 2011. The last gunfight at the Rice Hotel. In the wink of an eye, both barrels clear leather and let loose clouds of smoke and booms of thunder. When the smoke lifts and the echoes fade, one man falls to the street as scarlet billows over the stones and into the spaces between. My imagination stampeded with this one, which was exactly what my aunt feared. Not that I wished a violent demise on anyone , but if the story were true, wow! What was it that lured this uncle to his fate? With the...

DavidFalloure: September 2016

Monday, September 26, 2016. In defense of the Electoral College. Get the picture yet? Without the checks and balances in our electoral process, states such as Iowa and South Dakota would never see their votes have an impact. Their voices and issues would never be heard or raised. The heavy-metro states would forever hoard the national debate. Even now, how much attention is given to the fly-over states? Position ever fully rules. Monday, September 19, 2016. DavidFalloure: Haunted Bellaire...
http://davidfalloure.blogspot.com/2016/10/haunted-bellaire.html
Friday, October 21, 2016. Bedtime stories from three older brothers around Halloween did not make for comforting sleep. And back when we lived in the City of Bellaire, Texas on Saxon Street, their favorite was the story of Kuan-timi-ti. But first, a little background. Before there was a Bellaire, before Westmoreland Farms. According to one of my brothers, however, it was once off Bissonnet. Nevertheless, the burial ground lay somewhere in the city limits, and belonged to a cannibalistic tribe.

A Hancock ain't enough. Michelangelo's Sculpting the Brand. Baseball and the Rosetta Stone. The Silver Bullet Myth. Knights of the Round Table. As Thermopylae is to most Greeks, so is the Alamo to most Texans. And while the Alamo is one of two defining moments which helped establish the Texas brand identity, the Alamo is its own stand alone brand. Click here to understand how. Sam—I am no Wellington. Now that's a knife. Celebrating a really big brand. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Emperor of the republic.

Sunday, February 20, 2011. Driving like a dream. At first sight of the vehicle, the client and I rolled are eyes at each other. After all, we’re both the same age and were hoping for a rental that was way more cool than an old guy’s car. Then again, with 50 nipping at our heels, some might consider us old guys. Nevertheless, we were left with the Mercury. By the way, in Texas we pronounce it “Merkery.” Just sayin’. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gift this to your history geek. History with a twist.
