Isbreer, isfonner og arkeologi. Hvor blir brearkeologiske funn gjort og når ble de første funnene oppdaget? Ismannen Ötzi i 1991 var det første arkeologiske funn fra isen som ble omtalt over hele verden. Imidlertid ble det gjort funn fra isen allerede tidlig på 1900-tallet. Brearkeologiske funnregioner i Nord-Amerika, Alpene og Norge. Størrelsen på sirkelen gir en indikasjon på forskjeller i antall funn. Isbreer, isfonner og arkeologi. Funnene fra isen er i stor grad konsentrert rundt jakt, transport og bekledning. I fjellpass med is kan man heldig og finne gjenstander som hører dagliglivet til også. Lendbreen har også gitt fra seg en rekke hverdagslige gjenstander, som neppe hadde noen funksjon i høyfjellet der de ble funnet, men ble tapt underveis på turen. En visp av tre, funnet på Lendbreen. Isbreer, isfonner og arkeologi. Snøsmeltingssituasjonen tidlig i august 2016. Hvor tidlig snøsmeltingen starter og hvor kraftig den er, er helt avgjørende for hvordan situasjonen i felt blir for brearkeologene samme høst. I 2015 var det sein snøsmelting og en kald sommer, og dermed ble det ingen smelting av gammel is i høyfjellet i Oppland. I år startet snøsmeltingen tidlig og var veldig kraftig. Faktisk har det ikke vært så lite vintersnø i fjellet som nå de siste 50 årene tidlig i juni.

However, glaciated mountain passes may also provide artefacts that belong to the daily life of ancient times. The Lendbreen site has provided a number of everyday items that probably had no immediate function in the high mountains, but were lost on the way. It is made of pine and dated to the 11th-12th century.
