An atheist prisoner in St. Joseph, Missouri, had the opportunity to earn an early parole if he enrolled the "Offenders Under Treatment Program". He discovered it was religious, and filed a complaint that asserted it "invoked religious tenets by using the serenity prayer and religious meditations". He later filed suit when he was denied early parole after not just "acting" the part, as the staff suggested.

For instance, why do we operate on this "wall of separation between church and state", when it's not literally. I can agree with one point - I think the default interpretation of any text is the literal interpretation. That includes the Bible.
