http://thebleedingblogger.blogspot.com/2012/07/10-great-song-covers.html
Tuesday, July 10, 2012. 10 Great Song Covers. After sifting through my music library, here are 10 great covers (in my opinion) that I think are worth listening to (I've included the cover and the original below so you can hear the difference). Have Fun! 1 Beck covering Hank Williams "Your Cheatin' Heart". 2 Rosie Thomas covering REM's "The One I Love". 3 Fiona Apple and Jon Brion covering "Everyday" by Buddy Holly. 4 Harry Connick, Jr. covering "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka. She and Him covering Bu...

the bleeding blogger: Remembering Nickel Creek
http://thebleedingblogger.blogspot.com/2012/02/remembering-nickel-creek.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. Chris Thile (left), Sara Watkins (middle), Sean Watkins (right). Listening to Nickel Creek at such an early age has benefited me greatly in that I now try to search out musicians that have mastered their craft in songwriting and instrumentation. Even though they aren't strictly bluegrass, Nickel Creek has given me an appreciation for bluegrass, folk, and acoustic music in general. And sadly, much of this great music is unrecognized from a lot of the public. Ode To a Butterfly".

Monday, February 20, 2012. In my last post, I mentioned how Nickel Creek inspired me to develop a love for bluegrass, folk, and acoustic music in general. If you feel brave enough to venture into more of this musical territory, I have five recommendations on new artists:. 1) Sarah Jarosz - 20 years old, great songwriter, multi-instrumentalist of at least guitar, mandolin, and banjo, nominated for a Grammy when she was 18, and has a killer voice! Listening to Nickel Creek at such an early age has benefite...

the bleeding blogger: March 2012
http://thebleedingblogger.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. One of my good friends, Davey, introduced me to Sarah Jarosz and I am so grateful he did. She is by far my favorite artist I discovered last year. She blows me away by how talented she is! She is 20 years old and has released two albums. The first when she was 18 and her second album came out last year. She is a multi-instrumentalist of at least mandolin, banjo, and guitar and has already developed an amazing talent as a lyricist. And her voice! You won't be sorry.
