Once again the EJ knows exactly what she wants to be for Halloween this year. I asked her a second time and she replies with annoyance in her voice "I already told you I want to be Angelina! Friday, May 21, 2010. I just love the trend of layering scarves over an outfit. I had been working on my first knit shawl for way too long. almost a year I think, but I am so happy to have it finished! It is the Fountain Pen Shawl from an Interweave Knits magazine from 2009. I didn't make it as large as the pattern suggested, because I wanted to wear it as a scarf and not a shawl. It was a lot of fun to watch it change after blocking it! Check out her blog. Monday, June 14, 2010. Updating an old mirror. Long time no post! We've been doing a lot of house updates, including painting our foyer. After debating color for more than a year, the room has finally gone from Pale Avocado to Wet Concrete. But more on that later. The painting made me rethink this old mirror, which I bought at an estate sale for my first college apartment (gulp! This thing is a massive sandwich of glass, backing board etc. so I just masked off the mirror with painter's tape.

Thursday, January 7, 2010. I bought some beautiful Malabrigo chunky yarn in "Pearl" with visions of big lovely cables in my head. I've knit about 6 inches of two cable scarves and am about to frog for the second time. I think this yarn is just so darn lovely that it wants nothing more than a k1p1 rib so it can just show off its fluffy semi-solid gloriousness. Monday, August 10, 2009. This spring / summer I've finally taken to knitting some garments for myself (as opposed to for everyone else's babies / kids). It's pretty rewarding making things for yourself. I just might get hooked on this. A ombre version of the Mason Dixon fair isle masterpiece, Liberty, in ivory and oatmeal colored Cascade 220.
