Life in the Waiting Womb: the locket
http://lifeinthewaitingwomb.blogspot.com/2011/05/locket.html
Life in the Waiting Womb. The life and (mis)adventures of an infertile woman with womb for an embryo. Friday, May 27, 2011. I wore the locket again this week, the one I wore when I was going through infertility. I would keep photos of the embryos in it while I was going through a cycle. This time, the locket is empty. In a good way. It's cleaned out, ready, but not anxious; just open and willing, for whatever is next. Hoping there's a bit of sun and warmth up there. (what? View my complete profile.

Minkgirl Muses: June 2007
http://minkgirlmuses.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Thoughts on theater, motherhood, and the art of living mindfully. Monday, June 25, 2007. Originally uploaded by Editor B. I had a meeting today with an eccentric English director - someone who has a name in this country and who has worked with a number of famous people. He's also been asked to be a guest lecturer a lot, especially in America, which is where I first encountered him while I was in grad school. Fuck fuck fuck it all. I'm never going to fucking get anything going here or anywhere else...

Thoughts on theater, motherhood, and the art of living mindfully. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Posted by Minkgirl @ 3:25 AM 0 comments. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Well I can't imagine Brits ever have one night stands. And I can't imagine that I'm going to exit this foreign sojourn with any real British friends. I've made an American friend, a Dutch friend and two French friends, but the Brits remain illusive prey. Where are my people? Where are the people who. So what do I do now? Time to ...

Minkgirl Muses: October 2007

Thoughts on theater, motherhood, and the art of living mindfully. Saturday, October 27, 2007. I feel heavy this morning - a post-race-day-lactic-acid-muscle-ache kind of heavy, like I've been dragging suitcases full of lead around my flat. There is the obvious explanation that I am in fact getting heavier. But I think the real cause of my lethargy is the fact that I learned a few days ago that a good friend - we'll call her Isis. I guess these are the central questions that most religions strive to answe...

Carlamuses: “I’m Singing”
http://carlamuses.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-singing.html
Carla is a mother, humorist and writer. She writes about life, art, politics and the things that scare her. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. 8220;I’m Singing”. The Penultimate Musing on Carla Zilber-Smith’s blog, by Mac Zilber. 8220;My arm is all fucked up,” she weeps, her face a cacophony of agony. I am assured by her nighttime caregiver, Alexa, that all is well, and that I can go back to sleep. Alexa moves her bed into Carla’s room. I go back to sleep. There’s a knock on the door. Carla wants to see you. 8220;...

Twilightme: September 2013
http://twilightme.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 2, 2013. There was a puff of smoke in the sky to the south, clearly a fire, something our eyes are alert to in the foothills all summer. We watched a pyrocumulus cloud form on the horizon- beautiful but not benign. The cloud flattened and roiled. Helicopters, air tankers, and fire engines roared into the county. Thus commenced the Rim Fire Days. Cindy made cookies, and we took them to an elementary school where firemen were bivouacked. We walked out Plainview Road to the point and w...

Carlamuses: Maclen Muses: A quick update

Carla is a mother, humorist and writer. She writes about life, art, politics and the things that scare her. Saturday, April 17, 2010. Maclen Muses: A quick update. The first, and most important thing you need to know about Carla's current physical state, is that the 'S' key on her keyboard is out of commission. Now, it was one thing when she lost her ability to walk, and another thing when she lost her ability to croon like so many songbirds, but imagine losing your ability to pluralize! You both have be...

Carlamuses: Megan

Carla is a mother, humorist and writer. She writes about life, art, politics and the things that scare her. Tuesday, April 13, 2010. I myself am not much of a "prayer" but if you are would you please save room in your prayers for my friend Megan Mishork. She is a feisty, wonderful 25 year old with ALS who is now in ICU battling double pneumonia. Trust me pneumonia and ALS are a very dangerous combination so she needs all our good energy. Thank you. I love you, Carla. Good thoughts, energy and love to you...

Twilightme: June 2012
http://twilightme.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Two grandsons and a niece graduate from high school this week. All week, I've been trying to come up with some kind of wisdom to posit with these young people. Graduating high school is really a big thing, but the truth is that from my vantage point at 64, all I can see is that they are babes with only vague ideas about what they want to do next. Those were the lessons that are full of life! And celebrate this landmark accomplishment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
