Chase All the Clouds: December 2009

http://seeingdimly.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Chase All the Clouds. A caregiver chasing the clouds of chronic illness. although sometimes the clouds chase me. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Blue Moon - it could happen. Now that we have some history of the phrase, let me ask you the question that I’ve been kicking around. If the rare blue moon appears, then can I, a person who believes in the creator of the blue moon, open myself to other rarities? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Chase All the Clouds. A caregiver chasing the clouds of chronic illness. although sometimes the clouds chase me. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. After I thought about her idea for a couple days, I told her that I wasn't ready for "Team Scibienski." She lovingly gave me grace to be me and she found other ways to relate to me in my grief. That's what you taught us to do. We have a question; we look it up." My only answer: Denial and Fear are two of the most powerful forces in our world. What do you think?

Chase All the Clouds: January 2009

http://seeingdimly.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Chase All the Clouds. A caregiver chasing the clouds of chronic illness. although sometimes the clouds chase me. Monday, January 19, 2009. Emptiness and the Preacher. Yesterday I preached about the Constitution. It was titled "We the People." I gave words to "standing by someone else." It's a great gift to have a pulpit. But today, I have the haunting feeling again. I wish for the freedom from the ties of the word preached. It draws me in, even holds me within its grasp - in knots.

http://pastorsusansblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/avowal-as-swimmers-dare-to-lie-face-to.html

If the only prayer we ever say is 'Thank You,' It would be enough. Meister Eckhart. Monday, May 10, 2010. To lie face to the sky. And water bears them,. As hawks rest upon the air. And air sustains them,. So I would learn to attain. Freefall, and float. Into Creator Spirit's deep embrace,. Knowing no effort earns. I was introduced to this poem just last year at a time in my life when there was much uncertainty. It has served as both comfort and challenge to me. In this nature, and our children can teach ...

If the only prayer we ever say is 'Thank You,' It would be enough. Meister Eckhart. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. What does it take to be God's disciple? Ability to see the big picture. Inclusive – no discriminating. Is loyal, steadfast. Staying ‘awake’ – being mindful. Steadfast, even in the face of personal threat. Ability to weep, be remorseful, to repent. Willingness to touch others. Ability to be moved with compassion. Willingness to disregard the rules for the sake of compassion or need. Being on the pat...

If the only prayer we ever say is 'Thank You,' It would be enough. Meister Eckhart. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. October 3rd, is World Communion Sunday. It is one of my two favorite worship celebrations of the year. I guess a minister's perspective is a little different. Christmas and Easter, as wonderful as they are, end up being exhausting too. The two celebrations that I hold dearest, though are World Communion and Pentecost. These speak to me of the current life of the church. Like What You See?

Pictures bring home just a small part of the reality of the threat and devastation. For me the picture that tore at my heart was a close up of a pelican, covered in brown oil, flailing in the water. Something about that picture of the pelican made it plain to me that God’s creation is groaning in pain and sorrow.

If the only prayer we ever say is 'Thank You,' It would be enough. Meister Eckhart. Monday, April 12, 2010. The iris is a delicate plant that lasts longer on the stem than when it is clipped and put in a vase for show. One day it is beautiful, the next day is it withered and dying. They don't last long - but while they do, they make the most of it. The beauty is there in our own face and heart, in the hearts of others - take some precious time to see it, drink it in, and thank God for such amazing grace!

When I First Believed. My life before Christ was one of despicable, fleshly experiences. I lived for myself and wanted what was best for me first and foremost. All along God knew that I would eventually call Him Father but it took me slogging through the sewers of the world before I got sick and tired of smelling so foul and rotten. Then one day my eyes were opened and I believed. Now I will describe two other events that I will label as BA and AA. I will say that over time my going gaga over Andy has mo...

Seeing Digital: Living Life Through Photos. Using Photography to enjoy my life. Monday, October 5, 2009. I've started saying a phrase recently and I don't know where I got it, but I like it. I usually say that after something unexpected happens. Sometimes the unthinkable happens out of the blue and there's nothing you can do about it except keep living life. That's my thought. Not at all profound. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. I must practice reading from a teleprompter. This is a work in progress.
